About the event
At a national political convention, a political party’s primary function is to officially nominate that party’s candidate for President and Vice President. The party also makes key decisions about the party’s political “platform,” a document outlining various beliefs and policy positions.
The convention will take place from July 15-18, 2024. Tens of thousands of convention delegates, volunteers and members of the media will travel to Milwaukee for the convention from around the world. Many guests will choose to come early and stay late so that they can experience everything Milwaukee has to offer.
